“ I have been asked what I mean by ‘word of honor.’ I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground-there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; ; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I’d die first.” - Karl G. Maeser

This quote is basically like a promise. If you say something you have to keep it and not break it. Like he said he wouldn't get out of the circle it’s like him making a promise. There’s certain things you can do when you don’t keep a promise to a person. Once you break a promise that person will no longer trust you. Always be trustworthy to the words you say. If you get locked away in prison there's a chance you can escape, but once you make a promise saying you’ll start to do better you have to stay in their and do what’s best for yourself. Always do what’s best for yourself, don’t think of others and do what you gotta do. It’s important to keep your words because once you break a promise there is no trust whatsoever. Don’t let other people think bad about you , always keep those promises. Choose the right.
